Philadelphia's own Jameer Nelson who is now in the NBA playing for the Orlando Magic has been on the scene as divers are searching the Delaware River today looking for his father Floyd "Pete" Nelson. Nelson's father works at a tugboat repair shop along the river. He was last seen near the water, officials said it was feared that he had fallen into the river. Nelson's lunch and car keys were found in the tug's kitchen area, and his car in the nearby lot, police said.
Floyd Nelson, a Vietnam War veteran, wrote a book about his son's basketball career in 2004 entitled "Jameer."
Jameer Nelson was a basketball standout at Chester High School and Saint Joseph's University. He was a first-round draft pick in the 2004 NBA draft and is the starting point guard for the Magic.

I pray that they find his father alive and well. My prayers are with him and his family at this time.
