Michael Vick's lawyer said Monday the NFL star will plead guilty to federal dogfighting conspiracy charges, putting the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's career in jeopardy and leaving him subject to a possible prison term.
The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although federal sentencing guidelines most likely would call for less. Vick's plea hearing is Aug. 27.

"Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made," Martin said in a statement. "Michael wishes to apologize again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter."
Since his boys already threw him under the bus it was best for him to cop the plea. He's already in his prime as a league quarterback, if he does 5 years his career is a wrap. Was it worth it? Putting helpless animals against each other to fight to their death for a few stacks of cash. As if his NFL contract wasn't enough, not to mention the endoresements. I'm done with this whole story.
(Just to play devil's advocate: Why don't they prosecute the horse farms that kill champion horses when they're too old to make their owner's any more money)

I do hope Mike Vick can bounce back like a true ruberband man, it'll be tough though, his QBing skills are already in question, trying to come back at 32 with 5yrs of rust, dosn't look god for MV
